I had the opportunity to meet with Don Kirkman, the new Executive Director of the Hilton Head Island Development Corporation. I think we are fortunate to have someone like Don in this position and I wanted to share with you some things I learned during my recent meeting.
Don sees the beautiful natural environment found throughout the island as a unique asset of our community. People come to Hilton Head year after year to take advantage of the golf, beaches, tennis, cultural events, exceptional dining, and numerous other activities readily found throughout the Lowcountry. For those visitors who are still working, some may find themselves wishing they could be here full time as their vacation winds down and they head back home.
With so much business being conducted virtually these days, Don sees an easy leap to living where you love and finding a way to get the job done. Over the years, I have worked with a number of clients who have resolved to do just that. Perhaps they were tired of the Chicago winters or longed for the year round outdoor activities. Being closer to a client base in the Southeast may also be an attraction for some. Most of us readily agree that flying in and out of the Hilton Head and Savannah Airports is easy and convenient for those whose jobs require travel. Whatever the reason, they found a way to call Hilton Head home.
Don is a very approachable person who would be happy to assist you in discovering a way to relocate your business to the place you have always wanted to live. Why wait? Perhaps there is a way to make the move sooner rather than later.
